First Ad Stats

The adsense ad I’m running for All Possible Worlds has resulted in 2,847 impressions and 2 clicks. It looks like I need to come up with a more attactive ad if I’m getting a clickthrough of less than a tenth of a percent. Still, it’s neat to see that at least *something* is happening. At that rate and level of ineffectiveness I can leave it running for 100 days and not burn out my free adwords credit.
One thing I didn’t think to do when creating the ad was block all of my sites from displaying it. I added that this morning when I thought of it, but it’s something that makes sense - I’m sure Google is smart enough to not display the ad on the site that it links to, but my sites already mention a lot of the relevant keywords and link to where the ad would link anyway. That’s why it makes sense to start small and do some testing. No harm, no foul.
I posted “The Sea Wolf” on fictionclassics.com today and finally got around to replacing the default Drupal logo - something I still need to do on a lot of my sites, in addition to replacing the “favorites” icon. I also added some of my newer projects to the front page of zetacentauri.com.
I didn’t really accomplish much today - much of my time was spent reading both forums and books. Right now when I’m not buried in the Wheel of Time book I’m working on Secret Formulas of the Wizard of Ads. It’s a really nice-looking book, and a great read.
