Yesterday my adwords account stopped serving All Possible Worlds magazine ads at 2847 impressions. I checked the ad campaign I had running and found that 14 of the 18 keywords I had suddenly had a minimum bid of around $5.00 and were no longer being served because my content was supposedly not relevant enough. I don’t see how the keywords “science fiction magazine” aren’t relevant enough for a science fiction magazine website, but OK.

Their keyword in the adwords control panel tool is pretty nice and has the option to paste in a URL and it’ll grab the relevant keywords from a site. I reconfigured my keywords to a different set, about 19 total, and it looked like everything started back up again… but today I find that I haven’t served any more ads.

I went through and added a handful more keywords, including “science fiction magazine”, which now, suddenly, is back under my minimum bid. Maybe the ads will start serving again, and maybe they won’t, but I really wish I had a logical explanation for the randomness. Maybe Google has too many servers that just aren’t keeping in synchronization with each other?

The ceiling on the number of domains I can has become a pain in the arse over the last month, so I signed up for a HostMonster account. They’re actually the same company as Bluehost, which everything I have no is hosted on, but for some reason they have a different deal. Still, can you beat 2 TERABYTES of transfer, 200 GIGABYTES of disk space, and hosting of unlimited domains. Maybe you could, but the service would suck.

I listed a synthesizer and the tacocrazy.com domain on eBay today. It looks like they’ve improved the process of listing an item (I haven’t manually listed something in a year or two since I’ve been using TurboLister2). Hopefully they’ve done something about the Nigeria scammers. I hate to get rid of tacocrazy.com, but the top four ideas I had for it, a mexican restaurant site, a mexican food recipe site, a mexican restaurant review site, and a site featuring a crazy cartoon character are all things I couldn’t really do myself.
